Since 1986, California based Marin bikes have been designing and building a wide range of bikes to suit riders of all ages and backgrounds. While the bikes are now manufactured in Marin’s Asia facilities, they are still thoughtfully designed at headquarters in Petaluma, California. While Marin crafts a full range of electric and standard bikes, today we’ll be focusing on the Marin Nail Trail E1 Bike 2020.
Priced at $3,359.99 and available in four frame sizes (S, M, L, and XL), the Marin Nail Trail E1 Bike 2020 is ideal if you’re looking for a bike that is equal parts fast and fun to ride. Crafted from a durable hydroformed aluminum alloy frame, the bike also boasts internal dropper post routing and long/low tail geometry with a short chainstay for both track speed and trail fun. A 140mm suspension fork in the front and a 10-speed wide-range drivetrain means the Nail Trail E1 is ready for whatever you encounter along the way.
For a power-packed ride, Marin included a Shimano Steps E8000 motor and a Shimano E8010, 500Wh battery. Reach speeds up to 20 MPH with assist modes engaged as you ride up to 80 miles on a single battery charge. As you ride, an innovative RockShox Recon SL fork will provide a supple and smooth ride even on the most unpredictable of trails.
A Shimano Deore 10-gear drivetrain can engage the gears you require to make it up steep inclines, while the hydraulic disc brakes can provide stopping power even on sharp descents. Tubeless ready 27.5+ wheels, wheels provide great traction and the potential for less punctures. This is a bike that is built for fun, adventure, and unpredictability, something comparable bikes such as the M2S All-Terrain cannot account for.
If you’re craving a bike that performs well without a $5,000 price tag, the Marin Nail Trail E1 Bike 2020 is certainly a solid option. It is a bike that checks many of the boxes riders have on their list.
